Some of the best food items are commercially available. Most are available in pet stores. You may feed crickets, pinky mice, mealworms (in small amounts), and wax worms (useful for fattening up). Make sure to feed your prey items prior to offering them to your leopard geckos You may feed them:

Flaked fish food
Commercial cricket food
Powdered rodent chow
Baby cereal
Kale
Grated Carrots

Supplementation:

Immature leopard geckos should be supplemented every feeding, adults twice a week. Females during breeding season should be supplemented every breeding.

To supplement your leopard geckos, you should dust the prey items using the shake and bake method. Put a small portion of calcium supplement (such as rep-cal) and a multivitamin (such as herptivite) in a jar. Add the prey items. Gently shake the jar until the prey items are lightly covered.

You should use a high quality calcium supplement that has vitamin D3 to help absorb the calcium. The calcium supplement should also contain a 2:1 ratio of calcium to phosphorus. I would also recommend a high quality multivitamin that contains beta-carotine instead of vitamin A. The animal will convert the beta-carotine into as much vitamin A it needs. This will prevent Hypervitamintosis A.

Prey size:

Food items should be no longer than the size of the geckos head and no wider than 1/2 the width of the geckos head.
