
a 2:1 ratio of calcium to phosphorus. Most fruits and vegetables have a a high phosphorus ratio, so balance with calcium rich vegetables.
Calcium rich vegetables: 2 or more items per feeding - 35% or more of diet.
Collards, mustard greens, alfalfa chow or pellets, dandelions, bok choy, swiss chard, kale, beet greens, escarole, green beans, and turnip greens.
Other vegetables: A variety weekly 35% or more of diet.
Romaine lettuce, frozen mixed vegetables, shredded squash, zucchini, sweet potato, bell pepper, various sprouts, grated carrots, and okra. |

Grain/fiber: optional - up to 20% of diet.
Mixed grain bread and natural bran cereal.
Fruits: offer a variety weekly. No more than 15% of diet.
Calcium Rich:
Fresh or dried figs, papaya, raspberries.
Other:
Melons, apples, plums, peaches, strawberries, tomatoes, bananas, grapes, kiwi.
Feed juveniles (up to two and a half years) twice daily. Food should be finely chopped or shredded. Supplement with calcium/D3 and multivitamins, one pinch per animal, once per day.
Feed mature iguanas (two and a half years and up) every 1-2 days. Food should be coarsely chopped. Supplement one eighth of a teaspoon per 3 lbs of body weight per week. Mature females will need extra supplements from late December through egg-laying.
