has a range in the southern third of Grande Terre. This is the largest island of New Caledonia. This species is semi-arboreal that can be found both in scrub habitat and along clearings in the primary forest. It is found on land as well as short trees and shrubs. It is not a very sociable animal, with individuals sleeping apart from each other.
This was the first Rhacodactylus to be produced in significant numbers in the reptile trade. They first became available in the use from captive-bred animals from Germany in the 80's. |
