of White's tree frogs can be kept in a 10 gallon aquarium, but will require a larger enclosure within a year. A 20 gallon tank should be the minimum sized enclosure for a breeding trio. I recommend a custom enclosure with a minimum area of 60 gallons to create a more natural environment. In such an enclosure you can incorporate a waterfall, stream, and water area. You will also be more able to lushly plant the enclosure. For more ideas on enclosures please view the enclosure section of this site.
Substrate
Their are two good choices for substrates, depending on if you are planning to plant the enclosure or not.

For large enclosures that you plan on planting, use a 1 inch layer of pea gravel on the bottom to provide a drainage layer. Over the gravel layer use a 2 inch layer of a peat-based potting soil, without perlite or fertilizers. This will allow you to plant directly into the soil layer.
For enclosures that you do not intend to plant, or just place plants in their pots, you can use a 2 inch layer of medium-grade orchid bark. Place the orchid bark directly on the bottom of the enclosure. The enclosure can be decorated with selected pieces of wood, rocks and potted plants concealed by landscape elements.
